70 miles for the week! It’s so hard to get marathon training done during the winter months, especially with so many kids and with the youngest one being so young! But I make it a priority because I’m a neurotic, obsessive freak and if it wasn’t running then it would be some other weird shit that would most likely land me in jail.
Monday (Christmas Day)- I FIT THIS IN!!!! Twss. *sexy dance* Okay so, I had a split second this morning and ran 8 miles super fast. I did the first 5 miles at 7:13 pace and the last 3 at 6:49 pace.
Tuesday– Snow on the sidewalks so I logged these 11 miles on the road.
Wednesday– Still snowing, so I drove to a spot where I could run on trails for 10 miles.
Thursday– I copied Janae’s workout from a couple years ago (Hungry Runner Girl). Mile splits: 8 min, 7:03, 8 min, 6:44, 8 min. 6:44, 8 min, 6:44, 8 min, 8 min for 10 miles total.
Friday– Freezing rain and ice rinks for roads forced me onto the treadmill for my long run. 15 miles at 8 min/mile pace. Good thing I got this done in the morning because the power went out and stayed out for 16 hours!
Sunday– 7 miles through the snow and ice with Callum in the Chariot! Callum fell asleep, which is good because he will probably be up later tonight.
I need to get in a long run and some marathon pace tempo miles next week! The forecast looks a bit warmer so hopefully this snow will melt off and I can get a few solid workouts done. I turn 40 next Sunday, so I’m planning to run my long run on my birthday!
