Mileage Monday

Well, it’s Christmas morning and I’m sitting here with my coffee and whipped cream, soaking up the last nanosecond of stillness between the chaos that’s been the last few days and the chaos that will be the next few days. Busy like WHOA. If you’re reading this post during your own fleeting quiet moment, then together, let’s take a deep breath and blow out all the stress. Ready? And…. whoopsiedoodles! I accidentally let one go.

In addition to my 50 running miles for the week, I’ve also been keeping up with my 5x per week of 100 push-ups, and even started some bicep curls (3x per week at 3 x 10 of 15lb), and it’s really helping my overall strength.

Monday– I went to bed at 8:30 last night, fell asleep around 9:30 and slept until 6! I woke up, had some coffee and bundled up for a snow run, but the sidewalks were still a mess so I had to turn around and come back to finish my 9 mile run on the treadmill.

Tuesday– I got to run outside! With Lora! For TEN MILES! BEST DAY EVERRRRRR!

Wednesday– Andrew and I had a breakfast date to attend to, so I had to drag my ass out of bed at 7 and get 6 miles done. I ran them at a good clip, especially for a morning run.

Thursday– I had to drive Jake to work at 5:45 so I came home and hopped on the treadmill for a 6 mile progression run. I started out at 8:30 min/miles and finished at a 7:30 min/mile pace. Not that fast, but it was tough as it was so early and I was tired from an insomniac night.

Friday– I had to pick up Andrew’s Christmas gift so I brought Katie with me and we went to Lora’s after so that she and I could run while Katie hung out with Lora’s two boys. We only ran 6 miles, but it was in freezing rain on busy roads. Glad it’s done!

Saturday– I got up early and did 6 miles, but then I needed to get the bees out of my bonnet so I ran 2 more speedy miles later on!

Sunday– I got up super early to get this one in before the day got crazy.

What are your plans for the day?

What’s the one word you’d use to describe the holidays for you this year?

Merry Christmas! I hope you get a couple more quiet moments this week! Our Fri-Sun have been CRAZY. But guess what? I have ZERO plans for the next 8 days! I am so giddy I could scream!! I foresee a lot of puzzles and true crime podcasts in my future!

Oh I’m so glad you get to have some much-needed rest. Teachers NEED this break! We still have stuff going on today and tomorrow but I’m hoping that as soon as Andrew wakes up, he can watch Callum and I can get outside for a run by myself. PLEASE BABY JESUS SANTA GOD! HELP ME GET MY RUN IN.

I enjoyed sleeping in this morning, which I never do. I mean, I slept until 8! I ran and then rested on the couch until it was time to go to my parents. There are advantages to having teenagers…

I know what you mean! Our teenagers sleep in until noon. Our problem is that we also have a toddler that wakes up at 7. HA! Fun fun.

Merry Christmas! Our weekend wasn’t too crazy but today we are traveling and seeing Rob’s side of the family. That’s always a little more chaotic!

While you track mileage, I’m tracking baby sleep and Ave made it every night last week. I think we might be through the regression. Knocks on wood.

I hope you had a fantastic Christmas!!

My word for this holiday season is “Chilled” I didn’t have any holiday stress meltdowns, and I only broke out my Holiday music detox playlist once this season! that’s a huge win for me!!

50 miles, you crazy woman! That’s amazing…. PLUS strength training! When do you do it all? Do you sleep?

Hope you had a lovely Christmas.
My Christmas in one word: quiet.
