Mileage Monday

I hit 60 miles this week, which is pretty much a miracle considering we had THREE snow days and all the sidewalks are still covered. Fitting in running miles is my superpower. And farting on command.

Monday– I had to take this one to the gym because when Callum and everyone is at home and I run on the treadmill in the garage, then he keeps coming into the garage or he cries and bangs on the door. So I headed to the gym in the snow (super short drive), ran 3 miles at 8 min/miles, 3 miles at 6:40 min/miles, and then the last mile at 7:03 min/miles.

Tuesday– Another snow day. :/ Out of desperation, Andrew called up his mom and asked her if she’d watch Callum for an hour and she obliged, so we dropped him off and headed to the gym. This is the first time we’ve ever gone to the gym together! We ran 5 miles on the treadmills and around the mini track. Then later on once Callum was in bed, I ran a slow 4 miles to unwind for the day.

Wednesday– I ran 7 miles this morning on the treadmill and then after cleaning the house and doing my strength work, I ran 2 more miles while Callum played with my phone and ate ice cream. :/

Thursday– Another snow day. Well, this time school was cancelled because of freezing rain. Can’t the kids just put on a pair of boots and carry a frigging umbrella? Anyway, Andrew and I scored an hour of sanity by dropping Callum off at his parents house and we went to the gym! We ran together around the indoor track, and I did 2×2 miles at 6:50 mile pace. So Andrew did 5 miles and I did 7 total. We felt a million times better after this!

Friday– Ugh. So, I drove Katie to school and then started running on the treadmill but Callum busted me, so I spent 6 miles on and off the treadmill, making him breakfast, changing his diaper, etc etc. It was okay. I guess I should be thankful that school was back in, and that we have a treadmill to use in the garage for days like this! I’m hoping for a 12 miler outside tomorrow morning after I drop Jake off at work! Fingers crossed.

Saturday– This was the best run I have had in so long! I drove Jake to work early this morning and then headed OUTSIDE for a run! I didn’t know how long I’d go for–I just started running and felt great so I kept going. The first 9 miles were done at an average 7:50 min/mile pace and then the last 3 miles were done in 7:30, 7:24 and 7:20. I was done 12 miles by 8:30am!!

Sunday– Somehow I managed to do 10 treadmill miles between diaper changes, making breakfast, drawing trains, picking up a huge mess of plastic forks, filling up sippy cups and squeezing in some weights.

What is your superpower?

When is the last time you shaved your legs?

I shaved my legs on Thursday because we had a SNOW day! 🙂 I don’t have kids so I like snow days. I had a great trail run yesterday but right now it is cold and rainy out so I think I am going to lift. I think if I haven’t run by 1pm then I don’t really want to run.

I’m way more of an afternoon/evening runner, unless I plan on having a drink and then I’d rather just run in the morning. Ha ha!

I like snow days if I can stay home from work, but I could see how they would be super frustrating for parents. Especially when its not even that bad! our city is terrible with handling snow so they end up closing really easily.
Nice job squeezing in all those miles during a busy week!

Well, snow days for parents are okay as long as the kids are able to go outside. The day that school was canceled for freezing rain was BRUTAL. Nobody could leave the house.

SNL had a funny skit last night that involved sit ups and farting….

I can’t fart on command, but there’s no lack of farting around here…

I love SNL! I don’t fart when I do sit-ups, but I did a front door fart once when I did a headstand up against a wall.

I shaved my legs on Thursday. I shave them each week because it’s always shorts weather in Charleston. It was 80 today. Way to go for you getting in all the workouts even going to the gym and doing the treadmill speed stuff! Also if you think your snow days are bad, we have had school cancelled here due to cold. Not snow, just below freezing temps. Because kids don’t own coats, lol.

I just read your comment out to Andrew and we laughed! So amazing!!! The part about school getting canceled because it’s cold!

ughhhh with the snow days off from school! I am praying for an early spring. I am actually really good about shaving my legs! I even surprise myself.

It was sunny and warm yesterday and it’s supposed to be even nicer today so the snow is melting. YAHOOOOOO!

You had a very busy Sunday!

I used to be able to see in the dark, back when my son was a baby. I could feed him, change his diaper and his clothes just with the light from outside. Now, my superpower has become keeping my cool with my ex when he does shitty things, like let his fiancé do Valentines with my son, when I had plans for us to do Valentine’s together… but whatever, karma can be a bitch. … wait, is that too much? Oh well! I’m hitting submit.

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com February 13, 2017, 3:31 pm

I have terrrrrrible night vision, but it gets me out of designated driving! Ha ha! So brutal about the Valentines! I’d be so upset. 🙁

    Thank god for in-laws.

I shaved my legs today mainly because I was trying to stay in the shower as long as possible so I could steam out this cold. Wish me luck.

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com February 13, 2017, 3:32 pm

Oooooh, I hope you get over it stat. My cold was intense but it only lasted about 3 or 4 days.

My superpower is shaving my legs. I shave them every time I shower, and I did so even when I was hugely 9 months pregnant because I don’t sleep with pants and I’m likely to end up scraping all my skin off from my hellacious stubble.

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com February 16, 2017, 9:51 pm

Whoa, THAT is a superpower. You shave your legs every time you shower? I can’t even remember the last time I shaved mine! I shave everything else all the time though. I get super lazy about my legs because the hairs grow back really fast and are pokey whereas if I let them grow out a little then they’re a little more….forgiving on my neighbor’s legs when we snuggle.
