Mileage Monday

So uhhh… I went a little over 50 miles this week.

Monday– It was a holiday here in BC, so I met Lora at 7am and we did 10 miles together. The cold wind kicked us in the face for the first 5 miles but then carried us back to our cars for the 5 back in. Later on, Andrew and I registered for a half marathon in Arizona on April 9th and booked flights for the 2 of us to go down there for 3 nights! We did a celebratory 5 miler once Callum went to bed.

Tuesday– I got up early and ran 5 slow miles outside, and it was gorgeous! I got to see the sun rise. Yippee! And then I ran 4 miles on the treadmill later on: .5 mile up, 3 miles at 6:40 min/miles (it felt tough today) and then .5 mile down.

Wednesday– I ran 6 miles on the treadmill in the morning, and then 5 miles with Andrew at night after Callum went to bed!

Thursday– I pushed Callum in the stroller in the rain for 5 miles and then, much to my surprise, he asked to go to sleep in the afternoon so while he napped, I ran 5 more miles on the treadmill! And yes, I’ve been keeping up with my strength work!

Friday– It was tough to keep it at 6 but I knew I’d be running long tomorrow morning with Lora. I think we’re planning for 12 or 13 miles.

Saturday– Just like the good ol’ days. Lora and I met at 7am and ran 12 miles at an 8 min/mile pace and literally talked the entire time. We finished the run and we barely remembered even running. The weather was overcast but not freezing and there was no wind. PERFECT.

Sunday– Thought about doing a 30 miler but ended up with 7. I might do more later.

Check out our upcoming weather forecast:

Tell me how sunny and warm your weather has been lately. Rub it in my face; I’ll close my eyes and hold my breath.

Oh no I hope it doesn’t snow by you! It suddenly reaches 60s and nice here, I hope it lasts. Love your text convo! I would need my own pillow In jail although I don’t think they even allow pillows. Ha

They don’t allow pillows? Wait a sec. Canadian jails are VERY different than American ones. I mean, our cops confiscate weed for themselves up here, whereas down there, everyone gets life for it. Lol

I really hope you dont get any more snow! We did have sunny and warm weather this weekend but I am really worried with what may be coming for us in March and April. It seems like we have had it too easy this winter.

We had SUCH a mild winter last year, and the winter before that one too. It never got bad for us, so it doesn’t necessarily mean you guys will have a bad Spring. We had a really bad winter this year though. Maybe your winter will be bad next year. I dunno. Who cares. Just soak up the sun while it’s out.

We’re not done with winter yet! In fact, as much as I love this little taste of spring we’re having, I think it’s going to make the return of winter that much more painful!!! I’m going to Florida in one month and I cannot wait!

Oh, that’s awesome that you’ve got Florida to look forward to! I’m excited for you!

Uh oh, what is going on that you need to run so much that you stay out of jail?? Is it the snow?

Kinda more to do with what I wrote about on Friday night. It just gets a little “weathery” sometimes.

I’m waiting for mother nature to bitch slap us. I know it is coming.
lol about thinking about doing 30 and doing 7 instead. Pretty much the same.

HA ha…I’m glad you caught that!

Next time that I come to Vancouver can I please meet Lora? She seems so awesome and I bet the two of you are just a blast to be around. I’ll rub it in a little that we have nice weather here because this is what happens in Pittsburgh every year…the weather fluctuates 40-50 degrees up and down and it gets me sick EVERY TIME (my dad always called it change in weather disease). So, I’m going to try to enjoy the warm weather because I know I’m going to get sick soon!

I live in Florida so I won’t even tell you what our weather is like now. Well, okay- it’s totally beautiful. But we’ll be sweltering miserably all summer long (May-October) while you have your beautiful weather, so it all evens out.

      • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com February 20, 2017, 9:32 am

I guess the grass isn’t always greener on the other side! I wish I could have the best of both worlds: fly down there during the winter and then come back up here in May or something. The kids would be okay alone in the house for a few months, ya?

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com February 20, 2017, 9:31 am

You’d love Lora! Everyone loves Lora. She’s so sweet and nice and fun. I’m glad you’ve been having nice weather but I think I know what you mean about how you can get sick when it fluctuates so much. I often catch a cold when we go down to Arizona because of the major temp changes from going inside to air conditioning and then back out to the heat.

I could never survive on jail food. I’d rather have the gross pillow than the bad meals.

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com February 20, 2017, 5:25 pm

We’d be good jail mates then. I think it’s time we meet halfway and do some brainstorming.
