Mileage Monday

I brought my mileage down to a much more acceptable 63 miles this week. This is the first week where I actually feel pregnant when I’m running. I feel pressure, or a heaviness down there. It doesn’t hurt at all; it’s just noticeable. It makes me go “Hey, I feel you, I know you’re there and I’ll take care of you.” If I don’t sound like a total whack job now, then I’m not sure what it’s going to take.

Monday– I headed out for an early morning run and only had time for 5 miles, so I took off with the running stroller and pushed Callum for another 3 miles later on!

Tuesday– I ran 4 miles with Andrew while I pushed Callum in the stroller and then I ran another slow 4 miles on the treadmill after Callum went to bed.

Wednesday– A much needed friend with Lora. We managed an 8 miler while Katie babysat Callum (the kids are on Spring Break right now).

Thursday– 2 mile warm-up, 4 miles at 7:13 min/mile pace with a half mile recovery, then 2 miles at 6:53 min/mile pace with a half mile recovery, then 3 miles back at 7:13 min/mile pace with a cool down mile to make it 13 miles total. I wouldn’t want to push myself any harder than that, but it felt absolutely amazing. The best run I’ve had in a long time.

Friday– Just an easy-paced 5 mile recovery run after last night’s run.

Saturday– After I dropped Jake off at work, I ran 6 miles in the rain and then finished it off with a mocha. Sweet rewards!

Sunday– THE SUN CAME OUT! And I was able to do my long run with Lora! BEST DAY EVERRRRR. I am so happy. We ran 15 miles together at just over an 8 min/mile pace and talked the whole damn time.

I did 3 days of strength work and although it’s tough to stay consistent with it, I’m really glad I have. Strength training has kept my body strong, stable and healthy and I am so grateful.

    Chocolate chips in my hands! Lol. It’s getting warmer I think here and didn’t snow today as we thought it might! Please no more snow

      Well, if it gets too warm then those chocolate chips might melt.

    While I was actually reading this, my cell was in my hand. But I had typing on there so I hopped on my computer to comment. I’m glad you and Lora were able to run together twice this week! I miss running with friends. I love running trail with friends. I think the last time I ran with someone was with Ana. That was a couple months ago!

      I’m not a huge fan of running with people but I love running with Lora. We’re the exact same pace and we always have stuff to talk about. It’s a pretty amazing experience. She’s such a gift to me.

      I’ve actually felt your empathy for me this whole time! Each week it felt like you really cared about our shitty weather. THANK YOU! And I feel your happiness for me now that it’s sunny! Today is the only sunny day, and then it goes back to grey. BUT I WILL TAKE IT.

    An empty coffee cup is in my lap (because I am typing). Yay for a fantastic running week! I did a few yesterday. I’ll do a few today. I am happy to be running, but not exactly excited.

    I think it’s actually supposed to be warmer today..happy first day of spring! I’m so happy that you finally got some sunshine. Makes you appreciate it more now right? Here’s hoping it’ll be around for a while! 🙂 Right now I’m not holding anything since I’m typing, but the last thing I held was my phone to check out the weather for the rest of the week (highs in the 50’s, I’ll take it!)

    The sunshine on Sunday was everything I needed this week! I wish we could bottle it up for the inevitable spring rains. Right now I am holding my phone and typing on it.

    We have sun today and we had sun yesterday! After all the snow we got last week, it feels wonderful to see the sun again!!

    what a great week of running for you!! I’m glad you got to run with your friend!

    Right now, on the hand I wasn’t holding the mouse with, I had enrollment papers for a participant for my office.

    I’m holding my lemon water in one hand and my mouse in the other. One for personal satisfaction and one for easy internet scrolling. The Hubby has the child but only for another minute or two before he disappears off to work for the day. This is my little quiet moment.
