Mileage Monday

So I uhhhh… ran *cough* 70 miles *cough* this week.

Monday– What a gorgeous day! I knew it would be the last sunny day for a long time so Lora and I made the best of it by doing a longer run together in the late afternoon. We did the same route as yesterday but at a bit faster pace of 8 min/miles for 12.5 miles. So fun!

Tuesday– I ran 5 miles early this morning on the treadmill and then I was able to meet Lora this evening for a quick 6 miler!

Wednesday– I ran 7 9 min/miles on the treadmill this morning and then 4 8 min/miles tonight at 10ppm for 11 total miles for the day.

Thursday– I ran 3-plus warm-up miles on the treadmill, then did 8 min hard at 7 min/miles, 4 min easy at 8 min/miles, 6 hard, 3 easy, 4 hard, 2 easy, 2 hard, 1 easy, 1 hard and then 3 miles cool down to make 11 total treadmill miles.

Friday– This was probably the longest stroller run I’ve done to date. I ran 3 miles on the treadmill and then headed out with Callum for 4 miles but he fell asleep right before we got home so I kept going for another 5 miles for 12 total.

Saturday– Rest Day.

Have you gotten over the fact that I took a rest day? Me neither.

Sunday– Race Day!!!

Andrew and I ran the half marathon in a little lot over 2 hours, but we survived. It was such a cool experience. The weather was gorgeous, the course was smooth, well-marked and well-supported. I started getting some braxton hicks at around mile 10-11, but we straggled in and dumped our bodies into the cab and booked it back to our hotel in time to get ready for the baseball game.

I’m asking Andrew to ask you guys the questions this week. He wants to know:

Do you wash your hands after you go poo? Because while I waited in line for the toilets, all the guys who audibly went number two, walked out of the washrooms without washing their hands.

How do you soothe a sunburn? On your bum?

What a solid week- 70 miles with a race and speedwork? Glad you guys survived the race! And I had to laugh at Andrew’s question. Guys are gross!

Thanks Lisa. Guys certainly can be gross, but this takes it to a whole new level. SO GROSSSSSS.

You are my idol. You are pregnant and rocking out better weeks than most anyone I know.
And what a cute half marathon name. I think it means you take shots from the eggs. At least, that is what I would do.
Burt’s bees after sun is great, but really, aloe and lotion.

Thank you Susie! I’m using ice packs on my burns at the moment. They surpassed lotion. :/

I know I say this every week but damn, that pregnancy mileage! I can’t even run 20 miles/week right now and I’m not pregnant, altho I do believe there is an alien in my body. What else to explain this overwhelming fatigue?

Congrats on the race! And tell Andrew I carry wipes for that very purpose.

I hope the alien goes home. 🙁

That picture of you guys at the half marathon is adorable. Looks like a very fun race and I’m glad you guys finished injury-free even if you didn’t meet your goals. Plus you had a fun weekend together and that’s what counts!

    Great week of training too.

      Thank you, Amy!

Poo or just a pee, YOU WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER YOU GO THE BATHROOM!!! People are disgusting! I hate having to live in a world that I know is covered in fecal germs.

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com April 10, 2017, 4:33 pm

I can’t STAND IT. I wish I had one of those special blue lights that Oprah used in hotel rooms to detect sperm on the carpets, bedding and curtains except I’d use it for fecal matter. Or maybe I don’t really want to know.

Thank you for looking after Callum! We miss him so much but it helps to know he loves you guys and has all the fun with you over there!

As to the second part of your question (re; sunburn) sit in a bucket of ice!!!

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com April 10, 2017, 4:31 pm

Ha ha ha! He didn’t get a sunburn on his bum. But man oh man did we ever get some sun! Ouch!

70 miles!! Amazing. And those paces?? I can’t even run those NOT pregnant. Geez. Congrats to both of you on your half marathon! You two are GOALS.

TellAndrew that I was my hands no matter what I do in the bathroom! I can’t believe how gross some people can be.

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com April 10, 2017, 4:30 pm

I can’t get over the no handwashing after poo thing. Now all I see are poo hands everywhere around me.

  • San April 15, 2017, 3:13 pm

Have I told you lately that you’re crazy? YOU’RE CRAZY. I can’t even run 70 miles in a month, let alone a week.

  • Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets April 18, 2017, 4:07 pm

    Aloe plant for the burn.

Also, I ALWAYS wash my hands after a poo. Not necessarily a pee though; it depends on my environment and how sloppy I was or wasn’t.
