Mileage Monday

Again, I started out this week with the goal of hitting 50 miles but then upped it to 60 once I was feeling stronger. I have completely slacked on my strength work though. A few weeks ago I started getting sore wrists so I stopped doing the weights and I haven’t been able to get back into it at all. Whoops.

Monday– I got up at 6, ran a slow 7 miles with 3 bathroom stops (2 pees, 1 poo in an outhouse). This is getting tougher and tougher to do!

Tuesday– Well, I had the worst sleep ever and then was up at 5, so I figured I may as well just run. I dropped Jake off at work and then hit the gym for 7 miles. I ran 1 mile, went poo, ran 2 more miles, went pee and poo, 2 more miles, went pee, then 2 more miles to make 7 total. It’s getting ridiculous.

Wednesday– One of these days I need to run 8 miles so that I can hit 50 for the week but each day I get out there, the thought of running one more mile has me feeling like, nahhhhh. I saw a coyote this morning. He ran beside me, in front of me, behind me, and I didn’t like it.

Thursday– I woke up feeling really good, and my 8 mile run at 6am felt easy, so I decided to roll with it and I met up with Lora for a 6 mile run in the trails in the afternoon (I pushed Callum in the stroller).

Friday– Another feel-good day! Two in a row! 8 outside miles at 6am and then 3 quicker paced ones on the treadmill later on for 11 total!

Saturday– I started this run out at a 10-plus min/mile and ended the last 2 miles at an 8:45 min/mile pace, but I had a few bathroom breaks along the way. I pretty much just ran circles around places with toilets.

Sunday– I waited until 11am to run today. Andrew watched Callum and I fueled up with spicy Doritos and a Coffee Crisp during my drive to the trail head. I hammered out a respectable 6 miles at 7:38 min/mile pace. It felt great to run a little faster than usual!

How do you guys say “coyote?” Do you say it “kye-oh-tee” or “kye-ote?”

    get. it. girl.

I say kye-o-tee and didn’t realize people pronounced it any different until my midwest friend said ky-ote … I was like HUH?!!! ps I wouldn’t like one of those things running around me either.

your pre-run fuel is *praising hands emoji* … what’s funny is some of my best runs happen right after dinner. Strange right?!

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com August 7, 2017, 9:20 am

Yeah–I’ve heard people say ky-ote and I just kinda stand there and wait around for them to finish the word. Makes it super awkward.

I love your pre-run fuel. I ate some Doritos last night, lol. Glad you got a lot of miles in even if you didn’t strength train, you had a really fast run too!

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com August 7, 2017, 9:19 am

I’m seriously thinking about eating Doritos for breakfast. Maybe I’ll sprinkle them into my salad wrap.

I’m still amazed that you are pounding out those miles while pg!

    kye-o-tee

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com August 7, 2017, 9:19 am

Thanks babe. I say kye o tee too. All the cool kids say it like that.

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com August 7, 2017, 9:18 am

OHHHH you guys don’t have Coffee Crisps down there, do you? I totally forgot! You need to try them. Super good. I got the spicy Doritos in the US! We don’t have those up here. Maybe they’re only in WA though? AHHHHH!!! CRISIS!!!

I’ve seen a coyote on a run and thankfully he was on the other side of the fence – I love animals, but there is such thing as too close. I say kye-ot-tee, even though I’m from the Midwest. Great week of miles!

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com August 7, 2017, 6:32 pm

Yeah, same. Animals are great, but under certain circumstances involving fences and leashes.

  • Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets August 8, 2017, 7:31 am

Look at you taunting me with your Coffee Crisp pictures. I can’t believe I was in Canada two weeks ago and didn’t eat any. What the ef is wrong with me?!

I think running with the ky-ote-tee sounds absolutely bad ass. Did I tell you my mother wants to do a sleeping with the wolves workshop?!

Can you rename this to weekly bathroom visits and mileage? 🙂 I’m envious of your ability to poo. I struggled at the end.

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com August 8, 2017, 1:24 pm

Your mother wants to do WHAT? HAHAHAHA! She sounds a lot more badass than me! And you know, I never even thought about how cool I looked running alongside the coyote. Dayamnn… I’m savage.

I have to go poo just reading your comment about poo.
