Heyyyyyyy GUYS!!! This winter can KISS MY ASS! Is it over yet? I mean, not too much to complain about as far as the weather goes. Not much snow, not too cold, but sickness wise, it’s been BRUTAL.
But let’s stay positive, shall we? Alrighty then.
This week marked the first week of taper time, and taper time it sure was. I hit 65 miles for the week and this is what it looks like broken down:
Monday– A super slow 7 mile recovery run.
Tuesday– Another super slow recovery run, but 8 miles this time.
Wednesday– I wanted to get the legs moving a bit so I warmed up, and then did a few intervals but called it quits and just jogged it out. I can still feel the 20 miles from Sunday and I don’t want to do anything dumb.
Thursday– Just an easy 8 miler on the treadmill.
Friday– 9 treadmill miles with a 2 mile warm-up and then 10 intervals of 3 minutes of hard running with 2 minutes of recovery.
Saturday– Just a chill 6 miles on the treadmill.
Sunday– I had to split this one up. I ran 7 miles outside in the GORGEOUS SUNSHINE before Andrew had to leave for work and then 9 miles on the treadmill while Jesse napped to make 16 for the day!
My ribs are so sore from coughing so much. I’m losing heart for marathon training but the good thing is that I’m tapering now anyway. All the hard work has been done and now I just need to get my head back in the game.
I was given a complimentary entry to the BMO Vancouver marathon in the elite division! So although everything feels a bit dark and dismal today, I know that there are bright days ahead.
