Pregnant and Running: 32 Week Update

Okay, NOW I’m starting to hit a new level of freak-out because we are getting down to the end. OH BOY. I mean, I had Callum nearly 4 weeks early so I could have this baby in 4 weeks. WHAT THE WHAT?!?!? So I’m scrambling a bit, making lists of things I need to get done, things I need to stock up on, before the baby comes. Here are a few notes:

-organize clothes in bins according to sizes for postpartum body

-pack hospital bag

-get MacBook serviced before warranty runs out

-dye my hair

-order contacts

-assemble the Rock n Play and the swing

-Stock up on paper towel, toilet paper, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, dish detergent, garbage bags (basically any bulky items that won’t fit into a grocery cart with a 3 year old and an infant car seat)

I’ve already washed and put away all the baby clothes, bought everything that I’ll need for the first few weeks (I’ll write up a separate post on that), and I cleared out our walk-in closet and turned it into a nursery (ha ha! living the dream!) so I’ll take some pictures and show you guys once it’s done (I need to make an Ikea trip first). I’m just really excited to meet this little boy!

I have my OBGYN appointment tomorrow (it’s every 2 weeks now) and I know that my uterus and baby are bigger than 2 weeks ago. I can really notice a difference. So I have no doubt that she will be happy with the growth and measurements and stuff.

As for how I’ve been feeling? Well, you know how I told you guys about how I had to make myself throw-up the plastic I accidentally ingested through my smoothie? Well I guess that triggered an onset of nausea because I threw up the day after that, and then the day after that too. I heard morning sickness can return in the third trimester so I’m not too concerned, and I’m already feeling better anyway, so that’s a relief. I should also write up a post on what I eat each day–it’s unreal how much healthier I eat while I’m pregnant. It almost becomes a game to me to see how many veggies and fruits I can consume. It feels SO GOOD. And I stopped drinking cow’s milk too, and I’m curious to see how it will affect me because I drank a lot of cow’s milk.

My indigestion is still really bad but that’s just how it will be until I deliver. I prop myself up with about 8 thousand pillows each night to sleep. My toes have started swelling a bit in the evenings, my hair is huger and thicker than ever, and my boobs are GIGANTIC. I feel like I have to provide my passport and my purpose for travel whenever I take off and put on my bra. I weigh 139 lb now, 5 lb less than I weighed at 32 weeks pregnant with Callum, but a solid 19 lb heavier than I was before this pregnancy got underway!

My running has been great! I hit 70 miles last week. If you’d like more details, here is the link to my Mileage Monday from my 32nd week of pregnancy.

Would you guys be interested in knowing what I eat on an average day while pregnant?

What about a post on what I think are the newborn essentials for surviving the first few months of parenthood?

I’m so excited for you! I’m happy to read all baby related posts :). The food cravings and what we eat when pregnant are always so interesting. Wish I had a blog back when I was pregnant! Lol

I think I may have done one already but it was so long ago. I should look it up and see how my cravings/eating habits have changed now that I’m in the third trimester! I love that I’ll be able to look back on this one day and see all the details. I wish I had done this with all of them!

Oh wow!!! It seems just like last week you posted the big news!! It’s always nice to know what a running pregnant mamma eats. Amazing you are cranking out 70 mile weeks. I think I was just fine with 30-35 when I was 32 weeks along. I was happy if I saw 45 per week🙂 I also had heartburn like crazy with my last baby and trying to sleep those last 2 weeks were miserable. Just hang in there Chica, 4-6 more weeks to go!!! I’m getting excited for you!

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com July 11, 2017, 6:51 pm

Thanks so much Melissa! It’s going by SO FAST. And yeah, 30-35 miles per week is amazing! I don’t think I did mileage like that with any of my other pregnancies, so doing 70 miles per week for this one is just… well, it’s absurd. I know.

I like your list. It’s like the list to make to get everything done that you anticipate not having time to do for a very long time! I do that before I go back to school in mid august. I try to get done all the SHIT I know I will be relieved to not have to do during the first couple crazy weeks at school. (Not trying to say going back to school and caring for a newborn is the same, but I think our mindsets are the same: GET THE SHIT DONE I WON’T HAVE TIME TO DO.)

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com July 11, 2017, 6:26 pm

Yes! Exactly! I think we probably both kinda do the same thing in a small way every day, right? Or at least for the most part. Chores, boring shit, I just put my head down and get ‘er done. I can’t staaaaand un-paid bills, or things left on a to-do list for too long. It drives me crazy!

      • Megan @ Meg Go Run July 11, 2017, 7:20 pm

Yes, that all gives me anxiety. We are leaving for vaycay in a week and I have a massive daily to do list to get done before we leave. Its gonna be crazy, and then vacation is going to be crazy!!! Im gonna need a couple days of nothing after we get back to recoop..

        • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com July 11, 2017, 9:41 pm

Somebody recently blogged about what they do before they go away on vacation–was that you? Washing their sheets was one of their things. I love that idea, so that when we get home we can crawl into a super clean bed. I make sure all the laundry is done, and there’s no garbage under the sink, and I run the dishwasher so that there’s no dirty dishes in there. Oh and I open the door to the washing machine so it doesn’t get mildewy. It’s exhausting! Ha ha!

Woo hoo! I cannot wait to meet the little guy!

  • Susie @ Suzlyfe July 12, 2017, 4:22 am

How the hell are you almost ready to give birth? HOW THE HELL?????

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com July 12, 2017, 7:33 am

I’m REALLY STARTING TO FREAK OUT.

  • Amy Lauren July 12, 2017, 5:42 am

I think the post about things needed for a newborn would be great. You have a lot of kids so you would know, but you could also do one on things that people buy for babies that they really do not need and could have saved money on.

I’m glad the pregnancy is still going well and so is the running. You are really far along now so not much longer, I don’t blame you to go ahead and get things ready *just in case*

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com July 12, 2017, 7:33 am

Oh yeah! That’s a good idea! There’s SO many things that new parents don’t need and still get suckered into buying!

  • Heather @ HeatherRunsFast.com July 12, 2017, 8:07 am

I’d love an average preggo day of eats! Especially with that mileage! I miss my pregnancy/nursing boobs… they were so plump and luscious. Excited for you!

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com July 12, 2017, 8:42 pm

I used to love my pregnant and nursing boobies but now I know what they look like when they’re deflated, so I’m not exactly in Thrillsville. I just keep chanting the internal mantra of “I LOVE MY BODY. MY BODY IS BEAUTIFUL AND GROWS AND FEEDS HUMANS.”

      Sigh…

So exciting – you get to meet him so soon! I would love to read a post on what you eat while pregnant. Did you cut out cow’s milk because of the hormones in it or stomach issues? Are you replacing it with another type of milk? I cut it out for both reasons – I’ll still bake with it and eat yogurt, but no cereal with cow’s milk.

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com July 12, 2017, 8:41 pm

Neither! We don’t have hormones in our milk up here. No hormones, no antibiotics. Our meat and dairy standards are way higher than our neighbours down south! Basically, the documentary was filled with information on how cow’s milk is not only unnecessary for humans, but actually harmful because of its nutritional breakdown. And mostly, the dairy industry has completely snowed us all into thinking we NEED the stuff, just so they can make money off of our gullibility. AND THAT PISSES ME OFF. I hate feeling snowed.

  • Ana July 12, 2017, 12:34 pm

Oh my !! the preparations for the baby have begun!! Will you stack up on snacks too?

Yes, you write it, I will read it. Other than a corona, is there anything you are craving to have after you give birth?

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com July 12, 2017, 8:37 pm

Yes, snacks. Well, I’m stocking up on non-perishables. Things like soups and alphagetti so that when the kids are all starving, they can open up a can of food and deal. Ha ha ha jk jk. Mostly.

  • Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets July 15, 2017, 8:43 am

I know things have changed since this post, but damn girl you are on it. I’m impressed by how ready you are. It’s like this isn’t your first rodeo. 😉 Seriously, you’re rocking it. Sorry about the closet though. If it helps, I lost my closet too (in Ave’s room) and it was the nicest one in the house. Oh well, she’s worth it.

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com July 15, 2017, 3:43 pm

Ha! Ave took over your closet?! Little stinker. She’s soooo cute, and all her clothes are adorable. Totally worth it. 😉
