Week in Review

Well, last week was all about getting a bunch of stuff done: van repaired, post-op dental check-up for Jake, van insurance, organize the house, hair cut, and help Andrew with work. Of course I sprinkled in a little fun here and there because it’s the only way I’d ever survive.

Here’s some proof of my paces for last week’s 10-miler (the first 2 miles were on the treadmill) with a 2-mile tempo:

That was such a great run. I felt like a beast! Although I can’t imagine getting those tempo miles at that pace up to 14-16 consecutive miles after I have the baby. GULP.

There’s always time for a dance party in the kitchen. Always.

Callum is pretty good at sprinkling too, if you can see the front of his pants. He attempted to have a wee into this puddle here during our trail walk. I also love how he tucked his jacket into his undies.

A few weeks ago I told you guys that I tried to take the cat in to get groomed and she freaked out at me and wouldn’t get into her box. Well ever since then I had been worried that her temperament would shift to an angrier sort but although it did shift quite a bit, she actually went the other way! She’s been even more gentle and more patient! No hissing, swiping or growling. She’s always let Callum kiss her, thank goodness.

As much as I don’t like the pressure of Mother’s Day, it’s not all about me. Wait, what? Really? Really. My mom is beautiful, loving, gracious and kind and while I have a tendency to get all moody teenager buzzkill on happy things, she really likes all the girly stuff. I got her the most pink flowery card I could find and took her out for lunch to Denny’s. That’s where she really wanted to go! Then Jake, Freddy and Katie asked to join us at the last minute which of course I’d never turn down, Mother’s Day or not, so we all headed out to Langley to pick up my mom and eat a bunch of food.

Another week in the books! Thank you to Meghan from Clean Eats Fast Feets for hosting this week’s Week in Review. <3

Have you ever had an animal that turned on you?

What did you dream about last night?

aw, such a nice picture with your mom and the kids! I don’t remember my dream last night but sometimes I really remember them and they are quite interesting.

I’m a big believer in the symbolism of dreams!

I love your family. So beautiful!! I love that you guys went to Dennys…that’s Dan’s favorite place to go! At least it was before we went vegan haha..not much for us to eat there now 🙁 Last night I had a dream that there were no spots left on my floor (since it’s all free-address and I don’t have my own cube). I just kept walking around the floor and everyone kept telling me to leave and they didn’t have space for me 🙁

You guys could probably eat the toast with the little jam packets!

  • Wendy@Taking the Long Way Home May 15, 2017, 12:18 pm

What a beautiful picture. I swear, you make the best pregnant person I’ve ever seen!

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com May 15, 2017, 1:47 pm

Oh STOP IT WENDY! Okay, don’t stop.

I love the family photo and the one of Callum kissing the cat and whizzing in the puddle. Thank god for fun, otherwise how would we survive?

I have no idea what I dreamed about last night, but two nights ago I was being chased by a tiny human (think Chunky) who wouldn’t release my legs. Hmmm. I wonder what it could mean? Ha.

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com May 15, 2017, 1:46 pm

That dream sounds a leeeeetle too realistic. Why can’t we have totally hot fantasy dreams more often? Why all this bogus real life bullshit? Lame.

  • Helly on the Run May 15, 2017, 4:30 pm

I love all the pics!!! The dance party pic is just awesome and the family pic…gah!!! <3

I rarely dream, so when I do, I put way too much stock in them.

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com May 16, 2017, 10:26 am

We share a brain. I’m the same way with dreams–well, with everything and anything, really. I blow it all up and make it all bigger than it needs to be. DRAMATICS FTW!

Its so nice that you all were able to have lunch with your mom! Thats a great picture!

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com May 16, 2017, 10:25 am

Thank you! Yes it was really nice for all of us.

DANCE PARRRTTTAY Also, love the denim vests. So chic.
I have a really sad story about an animal that turned on me, but I don’t want to go into it because it doesn’t end well. How about we talk about how Zoe has come out of her shell and she and Ridley are starting to interact? Well, she is batting Ridley in the face, but I’ll take it.

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com May 16, 2017, 10:25 am

At least she’s just batting at him and not like, stalking him and biting him and stuff.

  • Amy Lauren May 16, 2017, 5:25 am

Animals turning on people… well, the dog that bit me 3 years ago “didn’t bite”. Until he bit me. Ugh. I have no clue what I dreamed last night but my husband always has some crazy ones.

I love the family photo! It sounds like you had a busy week with life but that’s just how things go, it’s not always glamorous…

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com May 16, 2017, 10:25 am

Not always glamorous… ha ha! Nope. Not over in these parts! I like it that way though. Normal schmormal.

  • Laura @ This Runner's Recipes May 16, 2017, 7:46 am

Awwww I love that family photo! I have really vivid dreams when I do remember them. I’m usually relieved when I can’t remember them because I tend to have bad dreams.

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com May 16, 2017, 10:24 am

Ya, bad dreams are no good. No good at all.

  • Ana May 17, 2017, 6:54 am

I hope your mom and family enjoyed the breakfast date at Dennys!!

My mom and I made enchiladas for the whole family, then we sat in the kitchen talking about how quickly kids grow up. I feel that she had such a great day, and she was happy!

I loved the video of Katie and Callum dancing!! my niece and son would have joined in all the dancing too!!

    • suzy.suzyheather@gmail.com May 17, 2017, 6:56 am

Okay so I know I said I didn’t want anything for Mother’s Day, but I take that back–cuz I’d do ANYTHING to eat your family’s enchiladas.

  • San May 23, 2017, 2:50 pm

    Yay! Mom’s! 🙂
